Friendly Fire Shoes, irreverence on the feet

Two friends in their twenties have joined a Portuguese company with over 20 years of experience in the footwear industry, and, from this synergy between know-how and an idea of avant-garde expression, Friendly Fire Shoes was reborn in 2015 – a kind of sleeping beauty brand that woke up with the irreverent luxury call of Alexandra Castro and Rute Marques.

Berg ahead of its time

Even before the athleisure trend, Berg Outdoor already grew under the principle of offering consumers clothing that combined functionality, design and versatility. The brand owned by Sonae continues to add fans in Portugal and around the world, with the online opening doors for a possible physical store in the future.

MDS chameleonic

Celebrating 25 years in 2016, MDS is determined to show its more adult side, swapping sportswear for casual-sophisticated. The icing on the cake can be a growth of 11% in the first half of 2016 over the same period of 2015, with the domestic market giving the best boost to help blow out the candles.

SMF gains abroad

The brand, which is increasingly betting on the total look – to the clothes it’s been adding footwear and accessories such as handbags and belts – directs 85% of its production to the domestic market, but, nevertheless, it is also conquering destinations beyond Portuguese borders. With a new store opened in Baixa da Banheira, Germany in sight and online growing, SMF has a green light for the future.

Piursa, but relaxed

Presented by designers Catarina Branco and José Pedro Gomes, Portuguese brand Piursa is taking the streets since 2012. The custom fabrics, original prints, patterns all over and knits cross the mini-collections of the urban wear brand, which are released every three months.

Gulbena strengths its business

Imprimis by Gulbena is investing in an increase of capacity with the acquisition of a third machine to leverage the growth in digital printing market. The entry into new markets, particularly in Northern Europe countries is also in sight for the Portuguese company.

Maria/Maleta goes with all

It has a woman's name, it was founded by two and want to be the ally of urban females. Maria/Maleta was born in one of those long summer conversations between two friends and now, the Portuguese brand of handbags that invests on handmade, from São João da Madeira to the world, sells reversible "Marias" or even to the customer’s choice.

Fashion by Nazareth’s lens

The question: " Is fashion art?" has been motivating the most different and yet peremptory answers. From Portugal to the world, Nazareth Collection eludes the quarrel over the issue, but added arguments in favour of "yes". Márcia Nazareth spends her days gathering photos that she then prints in the clothing collections of the brand, which inherited the family name.

Aly John’s blue blood

It was born 15 days ago and has 25 pieces to offer to denim lovers, all finished by hand. Aly John is a dream of an anonymous founder and has a second generation in the implementation.

In DCK’s wave

Those who navigate in any of the online platforms of the Portuguese brand are immediately invited to a trip to Bali. The promotional video "Enjoy life" carries cybernauts to paradisiacal landscapes that are mirrored in DCK’s boardshorts. In the physical stores, which receive new articles every two weeks, the itinerary is similar and the hosts remain the swim shorts with limited edition.
